Congratulations to the Woodinville Wine Country member wineries who garnered awards at this year’s Seattle Wine Awards. Woodinville Wine Country member wineries earned a total of 194 awards – 69 of them DOUBLE GOLD! Woodinville Wine Country is a unique wine touring region featuring wineries that range in size and production from the state’s largest winery to the smallest boutique style tasting room. One thing these wineries do have in common is high quality wine and the Seattle Wine Awards is evidence of that very fact. Woodinville Wine Country features winery tasting rooms from most regions around state and its proximity to the metropolitan Seattle area population is unmatched nationally.

Seattle Wine Awards Executive Director Christopher Chan says, “Each year is special in terms of the wines that receive recognition. We expect the established wineries to receive top honors because the ‘big’ wineries have more resources. They often make consistently high-quality wines, at every price point. For instance, the entry-level wines from Silver Lake Winery scored Gold medals. I am also delighted to showcase the new wineries that earn awards. Many of these are family ventures – farmers and orchardists – who are forging their mark in the world of wine. So, now that smaller wineries have the taste of Double Gold award they are encouraged to continue on, making great wine vintage after vintage. I am pleased to recognize a few of the wineries that impressed the panel this year: Alexandria Nicole Cellars of Horse Heaven Hills, Lake Chelan Winery, Obelisco of Red Mountain and Patterson Cellars. review. Guest chefs from Woodinville’s Barking Frog, Italianissimo, Pasta Nova, Le Petit Terroir,
Purple Café and Wine Bar, Gobble Restaurant, The Hollywood Tavern and The Station Pizzeria will be on-hand to serve up delicious bites.

Now in its 11th year, Passport to Woodinville offers Washington wine lovers the opportunity to
experience Woodinville’s booming wine scene. Ticket holders will receive a glass and passport
allowing one-time entry to participating wineries pouring new releases and other select wines.
