Break-even Bottle No 61 | The ImpEx Collection Event | The Cottage
Tuesday October 19, 2021
4:00 PM - 9:00 PM
Introducing progressive break-even bottles. These bottles are still exquisite and rare, outside of what you’ll typically see on menus and sold in 1 oz. pours for cost. And now come back the following week for another exceptional bottle from the same producer to compare tasting notes. (We’ll also open our library with special deals on tastings from bottles on our shelf from each week’s producer.) Tuesdays only, we open the bottle at 4p and sell 1 oz pours until it’s gone.
Reservations are highly recommended but not required.

A second very special Break-even Bottle night! We’ll be joined by TWO special guests (Carolyn Sellar, a whisky expert & Kevin Obis from ImpEx), have prizes and giveaways…and, of course, have some amazing whiskies to taste! This evening we’ll be featuring best-in show Gold Medal Winner from the 2021 Whiskies of the World Competition in San Francisco! (On August 2nd, Carolyn was on the national judging panel for this competition and will be able to talk about the competition and the whiskies!)
• Our first 20 guests will receive a complementary BenRiach Glencairn glass.
• A raffle will be held for all that participate in this break-even event.
40 Year Old 1980 Blend Cask #34
An Autumn Farmer’s Market with notes of tobacco and mulled wine cooking on an open wood fire. Melted dark chocolate, orange, and toasted cinnamon sticks. Notes of red berry and fruitcake batter. Dense and packed with stewed and dried fruits; dusty chocolate blends with a hint of bonfire smoke, and cherries left to soak in Bourbon.
What you can expect to find: Strawberry, Fruitcake, and Campfire or bonfire
21 Year Old 1999 Orkney Cask #58 (HHD)
The perfect amount of delicate smoke for those looking to dip a toe into the world of peaty whiskies. Slightly meaty notes are perfectly balanced by floral tea-like elements.

12 Year Old 2008 Caol Ila Cask #313250 (Hogshead)
Heavy and briny, notes of coastal air on a hot, humid day. Old fishing nets and boat tar. Chipotle infused olive oil, salted baguettes, and fresh ground coffee.
