Chateau Lill is Crushing the Blood Shortage in October!

Chateau Lill and Bloodworks Northwest are partnering to support hospitals throughout the Pacific Northwest– providing an opportunity for our local community to accessibly donate blood during the COVID Pandemic. A blood shortage is anticipated as blood drives won’t be taking place at local high school and college locations. With no students on campus, these annual blood drives aren’t being held. School-based blood drives account for 25% of the blood collected at Bloodworks Northwest. Chateau Lill has opened its doors to host as the second Pop-Up Donor Center in Woodinville Wine Country. During October 13, 14, 15, 20, 21, 22 the Grand Room will be transformed from beautiful wedding venue into a Pop-Up Blood Donation Center, allowing local residents and wine enthusiasts to come out and save a life as a blood donor. The need for blood by local hospitals hasn’t decreased, in fact it has gone up as the back log of patients who had to cancel their elective surgeries earlier in the year are now being treated. Donating blood is an essential activity critical to sustaining community healthcare, especially during emergencies. O Positive is the most common blood type, accounting for about 38% of the U.S. population: O Positive blood can be given to O Positive, A Positive, B Positive, and AB Positive patients – this accounts for the majority of the U.S. population (about 84%!) which is why there is such a high need for O Positive donors each and every day.

Your one hour donation appointment is a safe and essential action to support local hospitals. All pop-up centers are being conducted in accordance with social distancing guidelines. No walk-ins, guests, or people under age 16 are permitted onside. Donors and staff are required to wear a face mask/covering while donating blood.
