Challenger Ridge is one of a few wineries that offer Pinot Noir in Woodinville Wine Country. They feature a summer concert series at the tasting room in Woodinville in the summer for all to enjoy. Challenger Ridge will soon be sharing their Woodinville tasting room with Patit Creek. The winery, located in Concrete, was started on an idea that Pinot Noir could successfully be grown in the Puget Sound Region. Their vines were planted in 1999 and 2000 with four clones of Pinot, Clone #777, #667, #115 and #828. Challenger Ridge has produced award winning Pinots since 2003. They have worked very hard to overcome the notion that only great Pinot’s are grown in Oregon.
Today with an ownership of 6 guys, they are making their winery a destination location with plans for wine bungalows, spa facilities and a bed & breakfast. They just completed a small amphitheater to host concerts this summer. In addition to the concerts Challenger Ridge offers a variety of events such as car shows, a motorcycle poker run, the festival of farms and in October their much anticipated Harvest & Crush Party. Each of these events will offer jet boat rides on the river, music, BBQ and other activities. Camping in the vineyard is offered Memorial Day Weekend through the Harvest & Crush Party on October 8th. The cost is a bottle of wine per adult per campsite.
