Super-Premium Wine in a Hand-Crafted Collector’s Bottle

One of the biggest delights of the upcoming WineCraft Spring Auction is the chance to walk away with a one-of-a-kind piece of memorabilia. And no doubt that one of Chris Gorman’s donations will catch the eye of more than a few eager bidders. Up for auction will be a stunning five liter bottle of Gorman Winery’s 2012 The Bully.

The Bully is dense, powerful Red Mountain Cabernet Sauvignon that has gotten plenty of accolades from wine reviewers. Robert Parker’s Wine Advocate gave it 92 points while Wine & Spirits awarded it 93 points, naming it one of the year’s best Cabernets.Gorman Winery The Bully Wine for Auction

If five liters – equaling nearly six standard sized bottles – of that premium wine isn’t enough of a temptation, the bottle itself will be enough to push an auction-goer over the edge. Created by Gig Harbor-based Fresh Northwest Design, the artwork is all done by hand, from the sandblasting to the intricate painting. Scott Schoenen, company owner, says it took more than two days to create the impressive wine bottle. “When people actually see the wine bottles for the first time, they’re amazed,” Schoenen says. “They usually have no idea how involved and intricate the designs are, or how detailed the craftsmanship is. The bottles really become pieces of art.”

This beautiful bottle of Bully is certain to be the centerpiece of whichever lucky cellar it lands in!
