It seems the Hollywood most of us know has become the land of numbing explosions, stale superheroes and perpetual sequels. But in the Hollywood of Woodinville Wine Country, the coming attractions promise so much more. Every weekend throughout summer, you’ll find a perfect complement of wine and music notes to imbibe and tap a toe to. If you’re looking for a weekend experience that’s long on taste but short on pretention, this Hollywood is definitely your ticket.
This Friday kicks off with a rich combination of venues and vocalists. The warm weather brings live music and food trucks to Castillo De Feliciano Winery nearly every Friday throughout the summer. Bring your lawn chairs or picnic blankets and spread out on the lawn to enjoy Dean Backholm and Now Make Me a Sandwich with a glass of Adentro.
William Church Winery gets particularly casual with their Flip Flop Fridays. This week, they’re serving up an ample helping of guitarist-vocalist Jacob McCaslin along with their award-winning 2 Spires.
Smack in the heart of the Hollywood roundabout, you’ll find Patterson Cellars and Gorman Winery grooving to the laid-back melodies of singer-songwriter TJ Sherrill. Between these two wineries and this entertainer, your cup will runneth over.
Across the street, Village Wines plays host to its own little weekend festival. Friday night features Robbie Christmas with special guests John Bayless and Jay Douglas. The weekend brings Kelly Shirey on Saturday and Danny Welsh with Steve Black on Sunday.
Just over the river, Columbia Winery continues their popular Friday happy hour with Mairin and Friends and ½ price flatbreads. Sunday introduces the latest guest to their free summer concert series, The Side Project, a sultry husband and wife duo whose passionate pop opens up like a fine Cab.
With so many winemaker and entertainment choices, you’re sure to find the ideal Hollywood for your taste. No matter where you wander this weekend, the atmosphere is easy and laid-back, with songs creating a perfect stage for the star in the glass.
