The Landscape Becomes the Work

Join Pacific Northwest artist Grace Duda, Vaunt Gallery, and The SOMM Hotel & Spa for a two-day collector experience where art begins in the landscape and culminates in a spectacular unveiling at Vaunt Gallery. This unique event offers an intimate look into Grace’s creative practice, inviting a small group to follow two works of art from their earliest beginnings in nature to their final form.

Gather at The SOMM Hotel and Spa on Saturday, September 12th, at 9:00 am before setting out with Grace by private transportation into one of the Pacific Northwest’s beautiful natural landscapes. As you wander together, Grace will share how observation, place, seasonality, and the quiet details of the natural world shape her artistic practice.

Along the way, you will gather leaves, flowers, grasses, and other organic materials that catch your eye and inspire the work to come. Grace will invite you to slow down and notice the colors, textures, shapes, and fleeting details of the landscape in a new way.
Spend the day in conversation with Grace, surrounded by the landscape that inspires her, with a beautifully prepared outdoor lunch inspired by the season and setting. Photography throughout the day will capture the landscape, the gathered botanicals, and the moments shared along the way.

Return to The SOMM at 3:00 pm for a relaxed wine reception and canapés. Connect over a glass of wine and share the discoveries of the day before Grace returns to her studio that evening. There, the materials gathered together will become the foundation for two original works created exclusively from this experience.

On Sunday, September 13th, at 6:00 pm, the journey continues at Vaunt Gallery with an intimate dinner and the unveiling of the two completed works. Over four courses inspired by the landscape you explored together, Grace will share her creative philosophy and artistic process, tracing the evolution of each work from its earliest inspiration to its finished form. You will see familiar colors, textures, and botanical forms reimagined through Grace’s distinctive artistic language, carrying with them a sense of the place and the day from which they came.

Collectors will have the exclusive first opportunity to acquire these two works through Vaunt Gallery before they are released to the public. This is a chance to become part of the story, to connect to art and nature in a new way, and to meet other like-minded individuals who appreciate these opportunities.

$1,250 per person includes private transportation, a guided foraging experience in the Pacific Northwest, a curated outdoor lunch, a hosted wine reception and canapés, a four-course gallery dinner, and an intimate opportunity to experience Grace’s creative process from landscape to finished work.
