Job Description:

Essential Responsibilities and Accountabilities

  • Support all systems related to the efficient functioning of winery business operations
  • Conduct business performance analysis for the purpose of developing operational metrics and recommending improvements
  • Maintain Shopify system and training with TR team
  • Manage the Private Eye Wine Club for online growth with specified goals; work with social media & marketing for campaign development and execution

Roles:

Wine Club Management

  • Troubleshoot problems

Systems Maintenance

  • Maintain the POS, website and e-commerce platforms
  • Weekly updates for event page, new photos placed, wine page, testimonials, trade… when necessary
  • Work with BLOOM on updates and system training
  • Access online orders; follow-thru with order shipping

Winery Support

  • Assist in planning and execution of bottling; order supplies (corks, caps, glass); inventory
  • Keep updated record of Wine Competitions and assist in completing required registrations, wine shipments, and meeting deadlines
  • Winery facility issues (ie: plumbing, electrical, mechanical) troubleshoot with Owners
  • Attend industry meetings as needed: Chamber, WWC, etc.
  • Assist Winemaker as needed, including occasional cellar work

Skill Set/ Qualifications:

  • Minimum 3yrs. experience in a tasting room and overall winery systems
  • Self-starter, work independently, communicate effectively with all EOTN personnel, team player, optimistic-happy-driven-competitive-enthusiastic-self-motivated-upbeat-positive attitude
  • Proficient with MS Suite

Job Description:

Pomum Cellars is an award-winning winery located in Woodinville, WA. We are looking for a passionate individual to join our team as a tasting room associate. Our associates are the first and most important brand ambassadors and they love wine, are dedicated to excellent customer service and enjoy building lasting relationships with our customers.

Our associates will work closely with the Tasting Room Manager to achieve sales goals and to learn day to day operations of a tasting room. This position is part-time and primarily intended for someone who is passionate about wine and can spare time during the weekend to be one of the faces of the winery to the public. Besides working in the tasting room the selected candidate may also be responsible for various outreach programs including offsite demonstrations, wine tastings, and winemaker dinners.

Position Responsibilities:

• Describe wines, winemaking techniques, and winery history

• Effectively suggest and sell wine as well as encourage wine club sales and promote membership

Reporting Structure: Reports directly to the General Manager and Owners.

Requirements: Promote an environment focused on excellent customer service, hospitality, and sales, while leading a team driven on the principles of honesty, integrity and service to the community. Ensure policies and procedures are followed consistently by all employees and always represent Tinte Cellars in a positive, professional manner.

Specifics:

  • Provide leadership, direction and motivation to staff to foster a productive, efficient and positive work environment. Consistently model the behavior that is expected from tasting room staff.
  • Manage tasting room staff. Responsibilities include hiring, training employees, employee scheduling, assigning/directing work, appraising performance, rewarding and disciplining employees, addressing complaints and resolving conflicts.
  • Maintain standard operational excellence for tasting room: ensure customer service standards and service recovery, opening and closing procedures, point of sales system maintenance, and housekeeping.
  • Responsible for achieving monthly and annual tasting room sales and revenue goals.
  • Work in conjunction with the wine club manager to maximize and grow the wine club and other direct to consumer sales channels.
  • With general manager, ensure staff is trained on wine, history of winery and brand as well as appropriate sales techniques, promotions, and incentives.
  • Manage all hospitality experiences at tasting room – hosting consumers and members of the trade to ensure an optimal experience.
  • Plan the sales and execution of private functions. Monitor and respond to requests for events. Assist with scheduling; staffing; set up/tear down, oversight and communication. Manage event calendar, adding information in a timely fashion and communicating with all pertinent staff.
  • Donation Requests: Monitor incoming donation requests and respond as needed. Fulfill donated items and ready items for pick up with completed documentation. Maintain completed documentation.
  • Ensure retail merchandise displays are fully stocked and promote the facility, increase revenue and enhance the overall consumer experience. Interact with artists and other professionals.
  • Ensure adherence to human resources policies, accounting and inventory procedures. Draft updates to employee handbook, policies and procedures on a regular basis.
  • Facilities management: Maintain an inviting, organized, clean and fully stocked tasting room at all times. Monitor supplies and purchase as needed. Laundry and restocking as needed. Coordinate cleaning schedules and assist with completion.
  • Multi-task and manage own time efficiently to assure deadlines are met.
  • Work on the floor as a member of the tasting room management team and consistently display exemplary customer service and coach employees in a timely and professional manner to ensure they are doing likewise.
  • Ensure consistent and appropriate brand message, effectively communicating always.

Summary of Experience

  • 5 years experience in customer service related to hospitality – wine industry strongly preferred
  • 4 years experience supervising staff
  • 1 year experience in a winery or tasting room setting required
