ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
As the face of Tinte Cellars, the Tasting Room Associate creates an exceptional customer experience for all visitors to the winery/tasting room/events:
-Provide a friendly atmosphere and outstanding customer service to all visitors
-Prepare the tasting room for daily opening and closing
-Present selected wines for tasting and assist consumers with their purchases
-Act as an informed resource for consumers regarding winemaking, winegrowing, and wine vintages, availability of products and brand award and accolades
-Promote and procure Wine Club memberships
-Assist in maintaining the cleanliness and appearance of Tasting Room, Kitchen, and Bathrooms
-Participate in scheduled staff meetings and training sessions
-Check identification as required by state regulation for serving alcoholic beverages
-Recognize the symptoms of intoxication and informs a manager or supervisor
-Maintain satisfactory attendance, to include timeliness
-Perform other duties as required including assisting other departments as needed.

We are currently seeking a wine loving, service oriented and community focused Tasting Room Lead with growth aspirations to assist the Tinte Cellars leadership team in executing and overseeing front of house operations, training and development of tasting room team members, execution of world class service and be a driving force behind reaching company revenue goals and wine club conversions.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
The Tasting Room Lead serves as the lead of the on-site customer service and tasting room operations during their shifts. Candidates should possess a strong working knowledge of Orderport, a natural ability to problem solve, excellent customer engagement and sales skills, be regularly available to work evenings and weekends, and be able to share their passion and knowledge of wine with our customers and wine club members.

Customer Service and Sales:
-Maintains a friendly, professional environment in the tasting room, enhancing relationships with all visitors.
-Engages and communicates effectively with customers, club members, management, and coworkers in person, on the phone, and via email.
-Works to promote and grow wine club membership numbers and exceed established goals.
-Assists other tasting room associates in closing new wine club sign ups.
-Educates customers with general wine knowledge and specifics about Tinte Cellars’ mission and club membership policies.
-Regularly attends staff training and demonstrates understanding of operational

Supervisory Responsibilities:
-Serves as On-Site COVID 19 Supervisor
-Screens employees daily before entering each worksite and oversee the employee symptom & isolation protocol process.
-Serves as the designated employee on duty who knows and can speak to COVID-19 regulations and guidance and talk to it as needed for how Tinte Cellars is meeting Phase 2 and beyond standards.
-Enforces the Tinte Cellars’ COVID-19 policies and procedures and reach out directly to the Owners should there be any questions or concerns.
-Takes initiative, acts with authority and always conducts themselves professionally.
-Serves as the point of contact for resolving complex customer service and/or OrderPort issues in the tasting room.
-Assists management with day to day operations, staff training, and making schedule adjustments.
-Communicates effectively with neighboring businesses and their employees.
-Acts as an industry liaison and participates in additional training opportunities as appropriate.
Additional Duties:
-The Tasting Room Lead duties are in addition to general tasting room duties as outlined in Tinte Cellars policy and procedures.

Tasting Room Lead Main Roles & Responsibilities:

-Full Opening and Closing Responsibilities
-“MOD” Role when in tasting room
-Drive sales of tasting room and wine club membership growth
-Train Tasting Room Associates on proper procedures & protocol, ensure associates are kept abreast on current initiatives/new releases/incentives/new protocols
-Maintain tasting room associate weekly schedule
-Execute dictated Marketing Plan in tasting room
-Provide feedback and reporting to management on tasting room performance
-Act as lead or MOD during events, assist in executing winery sponsored and private events in the tasting room
-Maintain Inventory at tasting room – maintain current record and submit inventory replenishment requests to management based upon demand and marketing initiative
-Maintain tasting room supplies – submit re-order requests to management as necessary

-Accurately handle routine purchasing transactions, including operating cash register and accounting of daily sales, processing returns, discounts, accurately reconciles cash receipts daily and posts transactions, and tracks samples
-Assisting the manager and lead with general tasting room duties as instructed
-Stock and restock both wine and non-wine items
-Ensure clean, well-organized, and functional environment throughout the tasting room & winery building, and performs facility upkeep as necessary
-Abide by policies and procedures outline by assistant tasting room manager and tasting room lead

 

QUALIFICATIONS:

-Previous sales and customer service experience in the hospitality industry preferred
-Professional and social personality with excellent customer service focus
-Regular weekend shifts required. (Primary duties will be during the day on Saturday-Sunday, but periodic evening shifts may be required.)
-Strong general wine knowledge, along with familiarity of the Washington wine industry, is preferred
-Ability to problem solve in a professional and courteous manner
-Ability to work equally well in an individual and team environment
-Positive attitude in customer interactions and with co-workers
-Excellent written and oral communication skills
