Obelisco Estate Winemaker David Rosenthal will guide us through the process with a focus on red wine fundamentals. Sample taste from our barrels to experience, first-hand, how different techniques deliver the appearance, aromas and flavors that we strive for in our wines. A selection of light charcuterie is included for you to enjoy.

About David:
David Rosenthal is a highly respected winemaker with over two decades of experience in the wine industry. With a deep understanding of viticulture, enology, and production, he has played a pivotal role in shaping the quality and reputation of Washington wines. In fact, David has made more Washington wine than most winemakers in the state, combined.

David’s journey into winemaking began with a harvest position at Robert Mondavi Winery in Napa Valley, which ignited his passion for the craft. He later joined Chateau Ste. Michelle in 2007, where he spent 8 years refining his expertise in wine production before being promoted to head winemaker in 2015. His work contributed to Chateau Ste. Michelle earning multiple accolades, including over 125 scores of 90+ points from major wine publications and four “Top 100 Winery” awards from Wine & Spirits Magazine since 2015.

In 2023, David was hired by Obelisco Estate Winery as Head Winemaker, leveraging his extensive experience to continue their history of making award winning wines.

David is also an influential voice in the winemaking community, having served on panels at industry-leading conferences such as the Unified Symposium, ASEV, and Washington WineVit. His commitment to innovation and quality continues to shape the future of winemaking in Washington and beyond.
