Thanks to the plentiful options for premium tasting in Woodinville Wine Country, you can experience multiple 95+ wines in just a few hours. Here’s an itinerary for an afternoon of top tastings.

Before you start this 95+ tour, you will need to make an appointment to taste at Betz Winery. This venerable winery makes Bordeaux and Rhône varieties that consistently garner top scores. A visit to the Betz tasting room is truly a “bucket list” item for wine aficionados and well-worth scheduling in advance.

Once your reservation is secured, one of the high-score wines you will taste will be the Père de Famille Cabernet Sauvignon. The last ten vintages of this wine have scored between 94 and 97 points. Père de Famille accomplishes what Betz Winery aimed to do from the outset: produce the quintessential Washington Cabernet Sauvignon.

Next, you’ll head down the road to the heart of the Hollywood District and stop at Long Shadows Vintners. Founded by the former Chateau Ste Michelle CEO, Allen Shoup, this winery features a lineup of winemakers from around the world who create exceptional wines with Washington grapes. Their lineage of high-scoring wines is extensive, the most recent being the current release of the Pedestal Merlot that earned 95 points from the Wine Advocate. Of course, while you’re visiting Long Shadows, you will want to taste their other current releases, a number of which scored 94 points.

Finally, make your way to the Warehouse District to visit EFESTE to taste a lineup of wines that have an established reputation for earning stellar reviews. The 2009 Lola Chardonnay, for example, received 96 points from Wine Enthusiast, which was at the time the highest rating for any white wine from Washington. No visit to EFESTE would be complete without a taste of Big Papa, their signature Cabernet Sauvignon and a consistently high-scoring wine.

In Woodinville Wine Country, it’s not a stretch to say that top scoring wines are on just about every corner!
