Red wine, white wine, blends and bubbles, they had it all. I’m talking about St. Nick’s Holiday Wine Tasting in Woodinville Wine County.

Naturally, myself and the rest of the Northwest Wine Night TV staff graciously accepted the invitation from Woodinville’s Sandra Lee to attend this glorious event. You know Sandra from the show (Madam President), she knows how to throw a holiday tasting event!

“St. Nicks has definitely become the official start to my holiday season. Sandra and her crew outdo themselves every year, and really make this one of the most fun wine events of the entire year.” – Brian Calvert, Host of Northwest Wine Night TV

This was my first year attending St. Nick’s and I’m already looking forward to next year! If you haven’t been before, you have to keep your eyes peeled when they nail down next year’s date so you can mark your calendar.

Hundreds filled two rooms of Columbia Winery as over 25 wineries poured various wines, making this event everything I imagined. I’m going to go as far as call it pretty epic. With two hours of unlimited bites and sips, it’s hard not to describe it another way.

I tasted some of my favorites like Lauren Ashton, Alexandria Nicole, and Pondera Winery. And I welcomed some new favorites such as the delicious bubbly at Rocky Pond Winery, Warr-King Wine’s Rousanne, and the Artist Series from Chateau Ste. Michelle. Believe me there were more, many more, but you know things can get foggy after an hours of tasting! In fact, there was a Rose that Marina Rockinger pulled me over to taste with just minutes left of the event and it was so unique, hints of strawberry and watermelon. Yum!

Being able to hang up our cameraman, host, producer, director, and bartender roles for the night was really awesome. We spend the year introducing you to new Northwest wines episode after episode of Northwest Wine Night TV, and this was the perfect way to celebrate another year. We strive to make wine fun, and the night of St. Nick’s, we had a ton of fun!

“I know I always say this, but it’s been our biggest year yet for both ‘Northwest Wine Night TV’ and ‘Northwest Wine Night Radio.’ I always look forward to the holidays because we actually get to take a break and enjoy some of this great wine we’ve spent all year talking about!” – Brian Calvert, Host of Northwest Wine Night TV

It wasn’t just great company and wine at St. Nick’s, the food from A Platinum Event, Purple, and Oil & Vinegar Bellevue was so yum too! I’m looking forward to what 2017 has in store, I have a feeling there’s plenty more Northwest wine for us to taste! Cheers!
