Even though it’s taken around a decade for Tim and Jennifer Armstrong to fulfill their dream of winery ownership in Walla Walla wine country, the Main Street tasting room that opens this month is still a wondrous movement in forward thinking.

The downtown space longtime residents will know as City Slickers salon before it relocated to Myra Road has been adorned on the western wall with a board-and-batten paneling guests will find reminiscent of the Armstrongs’ farmstyle winery north of town. Just as soon as that winery is built.

This is an order of operations the Armstrongs realize is slightly unconventional: tying a public face to a production facility that doesn’t yet exist. To be clear, Armstrong Family Winery does exist.
