FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

Woodinville, WA (September 1st, 2021) —

Woodinville Wine Country is pleased to announce our NEW home and Woodinville Visitor Center in the heart of Woodinville’s Downtown District. We are relocating both the Woodinville Wine Country office and Visitor Center to Wine Alley of Woodin Creek Village.

“For the past five years, the Woodinville Visitor Center has been operating out of the Hollywood District. Our past location, in the Hollywood District, was a great home to the Woodinville Visitor Center for many years and we are thankful for the community support. I want to give a special thank you to the Chamber of Woodinville for their partnership over the years. The Woodinville Visitor Center has long been a joint effort between Woodinville Wine Country and the Chamber of Woodinville. As both our organizations have found a new home, we are sad to leave the Visitor Center partnership behind [for now], but we will continue to work together for various community events and marketing campaigns” said Amber Schmitt, Executive Director of Woodinville Wine Country.

“Woodinville’s Downtown District is growing fast and Woodin Creek Village is the perfect location for tourism activities. Woodinville Wine Country is thrilled to have a new home at Woodin Creek Village alongside a dozen of our tasting room and restaurant partners” said Schmitt.

“It was an honor for the Woodinville Chamber to start the Visitor Center over a decade ago, operating in both Woodinville’s Hollywood District and then in downtown Woodinville at the Carol Edwards Center. In 2016, the Woodinville Chamber partnered with Woodinville Wine Country to open a new Woodinville Visitor Center, one that has operated for the past five years in the heart of Woodinville’s Hollywood District, next to the Sammamish Valley Grange. We are pleased that Woodinville Wine Country will continue to operate a center in downtown Woodinville, while we look for a new location to come together again in partnership. The ultimate goal is to house a Visitor Center that represents all aspects of tourism to Woodinville, from our agricultural beauty to our abundance of wineries to our world class dining and lodging. Having a location to welcome visitors to Woodinville is vital to both of our organizations. In addition to the Visitor Center, we look forward to continued partnership in a variety of ways” said Kimberly Ellertson, Executive Director of The Chamber of Woodinville.

Woodin Creek Village is home to 11 wineries, 8 cafes and restaurants, multiple paved and natural walking paths, and the central plaza, full of seasonal and reoccurring events.

“The concept that we came back to time and time again when developing Woodin Creek Village was to create a gathering place for residents and visitors alike….We worked with intentionality to bring an outdoor experience in an urban setting while preserving natural habitats, enhancing walkability, providing for al fresco social activities, and curating commercial tenants that are regional leaders in their respective sectors,” said Dean Weidner, Chairman of Weidner Apartment Homes, owner and operator of Woodin Creek Village.

Schmitt agrees. “We hope to be visitors’ and locals’ first stop when planning a trip to Woodinville. With our new central location we will be able to provide better recommendations to our guests as they explore all Woodinville has to offer” she explained.

“Woodin Creek will be a great new home for Woodinville Wine Country. I visited a few days ago and they were just getting furniture and setting up. While the old location, near the Hollywood School, was nice, this location is more central to all the different wine tasting areas that Woodinville has to offer. You are literally not more than ten minutes away from any wine tasting district in our city. There are also eleven additional tasting rooms and three restaurants soon to be opened in the Woodinville Civic Center, about a five minute walk away. Woodin Creek has had several tasting rooms and eateries open in the last few weeks and the atmosphere in Woodin Creek is very friendly and causal. The staff at Woodinville Wine Country is knowledgeable and can easily direct you where you wish to visit” said Gary Harris, Mayor of Woodinville.

The Woodinville Visitor Center will continue to provide a location for visitors and our community to learn about all there is to experience in Woodinville. All the ingredients are here: authentic beverage makers, fine cuisine around every bend, a diverse downtown, and the beauty of the Sammamish River Valley. Is it any wonder Woodinville has become a year-round magnet for activities of every kind? Visitors can catch a live music show, enjoy a wine walk through our Districts, bike along the riverside, or see what’s in bloom at Molbak’s garden+home. They’ll run out of daylight long before they run out of fun.

With the re-opening and relocation of the Woodinville Visitor Center, our staff will have the opportunity to guide the visitor’s experience in this world-class destination, leaving them feeling welcome and glad they made the decision to visit!

The Woodinville Visitor Center will be open 7 days a week from 11am to 3pm at 13590 NE Village Square Drive, Suite 1030, Woodinville, WA 98072.

The Woodinville Wine Country team is working diligently to get this space ready for the public and will host a Grand Opening and Ribbon Cutting event soon. Stay tuned for more details!
