Tanya Morningstar Darling
Tanya has worked in the wine industry; in restaurants, retail, and education for more than two decades and has been teaching about wine since 2004. Her love of classical wines, passion for history, nature, and gastronomy inspires her educational approach. In addition to her role as a faculty member at the Northwest Wine Academy and as an Official Bourgogne Ambassador, to name a few, Tanya also owns Cellar Muse LLC, an educational wine event service; providing wine certification courses, master classes, wine tours, and tasting events.
As the Wine Educator at Columbia Winery, Shelly has immersed herself in Washington wine culture from all angles including the diversity among growing Washington’s many grape varietals to the education associated with it. She is also a professional wine judge and has earned many accreditations including Certified Sommelier (CS), Certified Specialist of Wine (CSW) and is pursuing her Wine and Spirits Education Trust (WSET) Diploma. Shelly’s passion is making wine approachable. So if you have questions about wine, no matter how silly you think they might be, Shelly is the perfect person to ask.
Joseph Miglino has been a wine professional for 25 years, predominantly with the focus of education. He has been in retail and wholesale sales, distributing, importing, and restaurants. Following a successful career in New York City, in 1993 Joseph moved to Seattle where he was instrumental in bringing and teaching the Court of Master Sommelier service standards throughout Washington State. In 2008 Joseph founded the award winning Martedi Winery as the President and winemaker. Joseph is a “go to” for any public speaking on wine and liquor and has spoken to numerous organizations and clubs. Joseph has developed his own educational classes, tastings and events for both private and public functions.
Will Hoppes, Fidelitas Wines
Will manages the Fidelitas Woodinville tasting room but has been involved in winery operations since childhood. Growing up in a winemaker’s household, Will has a deep appreciation for food (especially cheese), a palate geared towards Red Mountain wines, and great respect for all of the hard work that goes into making a great bottle of wine. Starting with the 2019 harvest, he will be transitioning full-time to the winemaking team with his father and winemaker, Charlie Hoppes.
